As equipment size continues to be reduced and
plant floor usage increases, ambient temperatures
increase around the electrical system. Lighting
fixtures have become more compact in design,
which also raises temperatures. Food and beverage
processing areas can have dryers and coolers or
ovens and flash freezers directly in line with one
another, causing rapid temperature swings that
stress electrical systems. Thomas & Betts’ electrical
solutions address issues that can result from
extreme temperatures, including:
